About

I am an award winning, multi-media journalist with many years of experience in broadcast, newspapers and magazine journalism. I’ve labored in them all…

I am also the former editor in chief of Latina magazine, the first national glossy lifestyle magazine targeting the American Hispanic woman. I was also a former Associate Editor at the New York Post, editing 10 special feature sections for the paper including, Tempo, a section I created that covered the city’s Latino community.

I’m a dynamic public speaker with extensive experience delivering keynote addresses and workshops on college campuses and Fortune 500 companies on topics involving media, race, women, politics and diversity.

An Emmy winning former television producer, I’ve produced and written hundreds of articles profiling famous prominent men and women in politics, business and the arts.

In 1999, I launched soloella.com, a bilingual website for Latinas. We were way ahead of our time, but the experience and team that I was able to bring together was one of the most remarkable group of talented women and men I have ever worked with.

I worked as an assignment manager and producer at Telemundo’s evening news (WNJU-TV) where in 1995 I won an EMMY for "The Cuban Embargo (Embargo Contra Cuba) - a half hour ground-breaking special on the U.S. embargo against the island nation. It was the station’s first News and Public Affairs Programming Emmy.

I began my career as a general assignment reporter at El Diario/La Prensa, New York's largest and oldest Spanish-language newspaper.

I have BA in History and Philosophy from Rutgers University and the proud honoree of a Rutgers University alumni award honored for outstanding leadership and contribution to the arts.

I reside in New York, New York.

I thank you for visiting me.  Wishing you a day filled with love, peace and all things beautiful.
